About the Book
Lost and Found (Repeat) came out of a desire to tell the story of living with Reactive Attachment Disorder as I settled into my eighth decade. Rather than presenting a psychological self-help tome or in an attempt to add to the existing theoretical literature, I tell my story as if talking to a trusted friend. This book illumines (hopefully) the why of the many kinds of lack of trust I have known, also of many leavings by myself and of others, and includes my sexual awakenings and resultant three abortions. If putting down my thoughts, memories, and selected experiences regains me full use of me, whoever that is even with RAD and AAD as my lifelong traveling companions, and if someone else reads this and takes some solace, then trying to answer the question, how has RAD manifested in my life, has been worth the effort

I am a curious wanderer, gathering up memories like bundles of down wood. I warm myself against the cold of uncertainty with recollections of sweet-hearted friends, distant lovers, wild places. Some of these find themselves pressed onto pages in stories, some find themselves treading the boards in plays; some even spread out in a novel or two. Some call me gypsy, some call me slightly crazy; my family think I'm feckless. None call me boring.
